“Dramatori” in Kalba

The Cultural Center in the city of Kalba witnessed a lecture on the drama in the framework of the twelfth theatrical performance elements organized annually by the Department of Culture to support theater enthusiasts and refine their skills, with the aim of highlighting them through the Kalba Festival for short plays, which will be held from the twelfth session from September 26 to October 2.

The lecture was presented by the Iraqi writer Faisal Jawad, and he focused in its beginnings on the introduction of the trainees to the concept of the term drama and the mechanisms of “drama” and its pivotal role in the theatrical performance industry, and in this context Jawad pointed out that the drama or the drama consultant is the artist who entrusted him with the task of analyzing the theatrical text, understanding his characters and exploring its cultural and social dimensions and assisting the director and the work team to present it in the form of guarantee Attracting and interacting with the public.

The lecturer touched on the complementarity of the relationship between the drama and the director in formulating and preparing the text for the presentation, in a manner that guarantees a coherent theatrical work in terms of technically and is able to make the impact required in the spectators.

The lecture witnessed an applied experience; Where the lecturer distributed short theatrical texts to the trainees and chose some text clips to show how to reduce them, change or adapt them, so that they fit the view of the director and the cultural context of the show.

Jawad also talked about the extension of the role of the dramaurg from the pre -show stage to the stage of its preparation, by asking notes and critical questions in a way that contributes to deepening its aesthetics and connotations.

The twelfth theatrical show session was launched on the twenty -fifth of last July, and hosted three workshops in “Acting” and supervised by Kuwaiti Khaled Amin, and “Sinoyography” and supervised by the Moroccan Abdel Majid Al -Hawas, and “Directing” and supervised by the Egyptian Jamal Yaqout, and the course also witnessed three lectures, including this lecture, in addition to the lecture of “The Movement Expression” supervised by the Syrian Ibrahim Aoun, then ” Its Emirati Majid Al -Muaini.
