“Draw a library” enables more than 11,000 students to know

“Kalimat Foundation” announced the launch of an expanded campaign within the initiative of “Tannah Library”, targeting more than 11,000 students in 15 charitable private schools, by providing them with mobile libraries that include 2,000 Arabic books, as well as organizing reading and educational programs and field visits that enhance students’ passion for knowledge. The move comes in conjunction with the beginning of the academic year 2025-2026, in line with the UAE’s announcement of 2025 “the year of society”.

The campaign, which comes with the support of the “Mustablay Group” and the “Sharjah Special Education”, seeks to build a sustainable educational environment that provides students with broader opportunities for learning and innovation, and supports the quality of the educational process in charitable private schools that embrace thousands of students of various nationalities and backgrounds.

The “Book of Library” initiative is one of the most prominent initiatives of the “Kalimat Foundation”, since it has presented a practical model since its inception in enabling children to reach the sources of knowledge through integrated school and societal libraries that include 100 books in each library, as well as educational and reader activities that contribute to the consolidation of the reading habit as a basis for building educated and conscious generations. The initiative that starts for the first time in state schools has expanded the scope of its influence globally to reach 27 countries, covering more than 110 sites through 177 mobile libraries, making it one of the most present and widespread initiatives in promoting children’s right to read around the world.

“Reading is a right for all children and an educational and cultural necessity at the same time, as it expands students’ knowledge and helps them to understand the world, and at the same time preserves our culture through the Arabic language,” said Amna Al -Mazmi, Director of Words Foundation. Through this campaign, within the initiative of “Dating a Library”, we are working to create Arab reading resources suitable for different stages, and make the book and narrative narration part of the school day, in a way that establishes the habit of reading, and guarantees a fair access to knowledge and protects the cultural identity.

In turn, Dr. Mogadad Al -Hashemi, President of the Sharjah Special Education Authority, said: “This partnership comes in line with the authority’s efforts to consolidate the presence of the Arabic language among students, and to enhance the construction of comprehensive and sustainable educational environments that keep pace with the aspirations of society and serve its coming generations. Where we contribute through this initiative to enable private schools to activate rich and active libraries, and to integrate reading activities within the curriculum for a day, to improve the quality of education and expand the horizons of accessing sources of knowledge.

The implementation mechanism includes field visits to private schools during which workshops are organized for creative reading, interactive narrative sessions, and competitions that establish the habit of reading and developing linguistic skills, as well as providing school libraries with selected Arabic reading materials according to the standards of the “Book of Library” initiative.
