“Dubai International Writing” launches a workshop for drawing children’s stories

The Dubai International Writing Program, affiliated with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Knowledge, organized the third edition of the artistic drawing workshop for children’s stories in the Mohammed bin Rashid Library under the supervision of coach Fatima Al -Amiri and with the participation of a group of young artists interested in developing their skills in drawing children’s books.

The workshop aims to refine the technical skills of the participants through training in the latest methods used in manual and digital drawing and integrating the two techniques to produce high -quality visual content that is in line with the criteria adopted in the publishing sector directed to children, and the workshop focuses on enhancing the ability of artists to benefit from artificial intelligence tools to develop their works, without total dependence on them and in a way that preserves the creator with his artistic identity.

Fatima Al -Amiri explained that the workshop included specialized training content that covered several major axes, including building fictional characters, forming visual scenes, and directing covers and books, in addition to training in employing digital drawing techniques to prepare publishing and printing works, and the workshop also highlighted mechanisms for analyzing examples of children’s books, with the aim of expanding the horizons of the participants and providing them with multiple technical visions.

This version of the workshop was distinguished by the inclusion of a group of international anecdotal models, in addition to the Arabic models, in an analytical framework that strengthened the understanding of the participants of the text of the text in the picture and its construction and development mechanisms within the book directed to the child, while discussing the foundations of the artistic directing of the photo books in line with the psychological and cognitive characteristics of the target age group, which enriches the visual experience and provides the trainees of applied experiences International publishing standards in this field simulate.

The program reflects the institution’s commitment to support the publishing sector and the child book industry in the Arab world, by providing specialized training platforms that keep pace with technical and technical developments and contribute to building a new generation of creators who are able to produce creative visual content, which enhances knowledge of emerging generations.
