A group representing global airlines asked the United Nations agency concerned to raise the international border of the age of commercial pilots to 67 years of 65 years, and indicated that global air transport demand exceeds the pilots available.

The United Nations Civil Aviation Organization is scheduled to consider the proposal, which is opposed by major unions for pilots in the United States, during its public association to be held on September 23.

International rules prohibit pilots over the age of 65 years. A number of countries, including the United States, apply the same base locally as well.

The International Air Transport Association, which represents about 350 airlines, said that lifting the two -year -old is “a careful, but reasonable and safety step.”

The association added in a working paper published on the website of the International Civil Aviation Organization, that there must be at least two pilots to operate each trip, and one of them should be younger than 65 years if the other pilot is older than this age.

The Aviation Organization raised an age from 60 to 65 years in 2006.

Main unions of pilots in the United States oppose the lifting of the tooth due to safety concerns.
