Sharjah University launches a master’s degree in “robots” and control systems

The College of Computing and Informatics at the University of Sharjah announced the launch of the Master of Science program in robots and control systems, which is one of the advanced academic programs that combine theoretical and applied.
The program comes in response to the market need for high competencies in modern technical fields, and it is scheduled to start teaching in the fall season of the academic year (2025-2026), as part of the university’s efforts to provide qualitative and specialized programs that contribute to preparing distinguished cadres capable of leadership in the sectors of industry and technology.
Enhancing digital capabilities
Dr. Abbas Amira, Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, explained that the program meets the needs of rapid industrial and technical development. It aims to rehabilitate specialized cadres capable of designing and developing smart systems and developing them in various sectors such as manufacturing, health care and energy.
He added that the program provides an advanced cognitive base for scientific research in artificial intelligence and self -systems, which enables students to acquire high -level scientific and applied skills that qualify them to participate in innovation and digital transformation projects, stressing that the program’s outputs will reflect on enhancing economic competitiveness and developing technical infrastructure in institutions.
Dr. Tamer Farouk Rabie, a professor at the College of Computing and Informatics and the program coordinator, said: The program contributes to the service of the community by providing technical solutions to local challenges and participating in community projects and organizing training workshops for students and teachers and is not limited to preparing academic cadres only, but also focuses on developing innovation skills and entrepreneurship among students as well, which enables them to establish emerging projects in advanced technology, It also seeks to build effective partnerships with the governmental and private sectors, to support the efforts of digital and industrial transformation at the local and regional levels.
The program provides a comprehensive educational environment within an advanced academic environment, which includes specialized laboratories in robots, control systems, devices and simulations for integrated systems, as well as educational and industrial robots, advanced programming and simulation environments such as Matlab and ROS, 3D printers and digital manufacturing tools.
The program includes a set of advanced courses that focus on multiple fields such as robots, self -systems, control systems, sensors and computer vision, and also provides students with an opportunity to participate in independent and cooperative scientific research, within the academic frameworks and governmental and industrial institutions, which enhances their contribution to the production of knowledge and technology transfer and qualify them to be an effective part of the innovation system And development.

The program opens various professional prospects that meet the requirements of the changing labor market and is considered an integrated academic path that qualifies students to work in vital specializations such as robotics engineering, artificial intelligence, automation and smart systems development, with functional opportunities in the sectors of industry, health care, defense and smart transport, and also enhances students ’tendency towards entrepreneurship to support the establishment of emerging projects in advanced technology.
