“The safety of the child” launches a campaign for a safe educational environment

Sharjah: “Gulf”
The Child Safety Foundation launched the “Return to Schools” campaign, in cooperation with a wide range of strategic partners, which included the Sharjah Special Education Authority, the General Command of Sharjah Police, Emirates Transportation and Sharjah Institute of Driving, as well as bus drivers and supervisors of children’s centers, young people, attributes, Sharjah girls and the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation.
The campaign aims to unify institutional and societal efforts, to ensure a safe and supportive educational environment for students at the beginning of the new academic year, by spreading a culture of physical and psychological safety between different groups and enhancing the awareness of families and parents and emphasizing the role of educational and security institutions in protecting our student children.
Safe transportation
The campaign focuses on safety in school buses by providing drivers and supervisors with a series of specialized awareness materials that contribute to the application of safe transportation and child protection standards by identifying them with the child’s help line and the reporting mechanism in the event of a child being offended. The safety of children inside schools, the institution organizes awareness -raising programs and workshops directed to students, teachers and administrators to consolidate the rules of discipline and adhere to preventive procedures in general, with a focus on raising awareness of the golden rules for the school bus riding and focuses on safety in the vicinity of the family by providing educational content directing parents towards enhancing positive communication with their children and following their school behavior.
The campaign includes a series of interactive workshops and innovative awareness materials that will be distributed to schools and parents, as well as specialized awareness workshops and programs targeting drivers and supervisors, with a focus on ways to deal with various emergency situations, in a manner that ensures the utmost protection for children, and awareness messages will be launched through the media and social media platforms to reach the largest segment of society.

Hanadi Al -Yafi, Director of the Child Safety Foundation, stressed that “the campaign embodies the institution’s vision in building a more aware society of the importance of protecting the child and ensuring its safety, saying: Returning to schools represents a renewed opportunity to enhance the values of participation and shared responsibility between the various institutions, in order to enable our student children to start their academic year with a positive spirit and a high sense of reassurance and safety.”
